Effective January 1, 2024 the county clerk's office will no longer charge the $1 document fee (formerly courthouse security fee) for recording documents in real property. Senate Bill No. 1612 repealed the document fee under LGC Chapter 291. The new recording fee will now be $25 for the first page and $4 for each additional page. This fee change will also effect DBA's, Cattle Br ands, and Marriage License Fees. Documents mailed to us with incorrect fees will be rejected. We cannot issue refunds. Call our office to make sure you are sending the correct amount with your documents to be recorded and if you are e-recording the fees will automatically be updated for you.
Effective immediately! Anyone bringing in a document to be recorded will be required to show a current photo ID. No exceptions!
